Electrolytic and Specialty Chemicals

Electrolytic products represented approximately 7% of Tronox's net sales in 2006.  Products include:

• Electrolytic manganese dioxide, a component of dry-cell alkaline batteries
• Sodium chlorate, used by pulp and paper manufacturers in an environmentally preferred pulp bleaching process
• Boron trichloride, used in semiconductor and pharmaceutical industries, as well as high performance boron fibers for products including aircraft parts and sporting equipment
• Elemental boron, used to ignite automotive safety airbags
• Lithium manganese oxide, used as the cathode material for lithium ion batteries

We produce our electrolytic and specialty chemicals in the United States at production facilities located in Hamilton, Mississippi, Henderson, Nevada and Soda Springs, Idaho.
