Tronox Fairbreeze Mine Receives Amended EMPR Approval

“The government’s approval of our EMPR application is an important milestone for the Fairbreeze project. When operational, the Fairbreeze mine will preserve more than 1,000 permanent and contractor positions and create an additional 1,000 indirect jobs during the construction phase of the project. Tronox KZN Sands is a significant contributor to the economy of the surrounding UThungulu district and one of the large industrial employers in the area. The Fairbreeze mine will replace the feedstock from the Hillendale mine which is ramping down production. The feedstock is required to sustain production at the company’s processing facility near Empangeni in KwaZulu-Natal. The EMPR approval is further good news to employees, contractors and communities benefiting from Tronox KZN Sands activities in the region.
