Oct 7, 2016 - Featured News, NewsThe University of Wyoming Art Museum’s Ann Simpson Artmobile, sponsored by Tronox, will host the exhibition “Surrealism: Visions of the Mind” during two community nights, Oct. 11 and Oct. 13, at Western Wyoming Community College (WWCC) campus locations.
The Green River community night will take place Tuesday, Oct. 11, from 6-8 p.m., and the Rock Springs community night is scheduled Thursday, Oct. 13, from 6-8 p.m.
K-12 students will attend deep-looking and art-making sessions with Erica Ramsey, Artmobile educator, throughout the week. WWCC professors will use the Artmobile’s exhibition of original museum-quality art for their college courses.
“Sweetwater County citizens are invited to come see the Artmobile exhibition and play a traditional surrealist game with family and friends while enjoying light refreshments provided by Tronox,” Erica says.
“Surrealism: Visions of the Mind” features the work of 15 different artists, representing the international significance of this 20th century artistic movement.
“Western Wyoming Community College is honored to host this event,” says WWCC President Karla Leach. “Each moment that we share the arts with our children and our community opens eyes to the creative spirit of the human mind.”
The series of events is presented in partnership with WWCC and is sponsored by Tronox.
